Naggar- unexplored and unspoiled tourist destination

Naggar is a popular village that is unexplored and unspoiled tourist destination place in Kullu district. It is situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

It is a famous hill station and has pleasant weather all through the year for tourist to visit. During the 17th century, Naggar was the capital city for Kullu under Raja Jagat Singh for 1460 years. He built Naggar Castle and museum for the locales and now it has become one of the most famous tourist visiting places in Naggar.

It is an ancient royal fort built about 500 years ago. It is just 22 kms away from most populated city Manali. There are many temples, monasteries and protected monuments in Naggar.

The village is located at the bank of holy Beas River giving a soothing view of the valley. Naggar is also famous for trekking and other adventure tours. There are many sightseeing places for tourist and is surrounded by ice covered valleys and peaks. You can see foreigners visiting this place and chanting prayers in Sanskrit in front of temples wearing traditional Indian dresses. Along with scenic natural beauty of blue hills of the village, interested buyers can go for ethnic merchandises of Naggar which include traditional baskets, natural oil of almond and olives etc.
